An Open Letter From A Doctor: Getting Personal, Going Above & Beyond

“In the world of sometimes impersonal medicine, the level of personal attention and care ASAP gives to their patients is refreshing.” – Dr. Kimberly Lentz, Founder of New Horizons Integrative Medicine

Every day is a new opportunity to go beyond the prescription. In 2001, ASAP set out to change the way health care works. After all these years, now, more than ever, it’s who we are. Recently, we received a letter from the founder of the New Horizons Integrative Medicine, Dr. Kimberly Lentz. NHIM is based in Zionsville, Indiana and specializes in the treatment of tick-borne illnesses and associated diseases.

Dr. Lentz, who founded NHIM, has been involved in treating Tick-borne Illnesses since 2005. Combined, with the NHIM practitioner staff, they have over 20 years of experience dealing with chronic illnesses in one form or another. Many of their office support staff have also either dealt with Tick-borne illness personally or had loved ones who have struggled with it.

Needless to say, the team at New Horizons Integrative Medicine take their work very personally.

A Seamless Experience

Providing the patient with a seamless experience is our aim at ASAP as we believe it is our responsibility to serve patients beyond the prescription so that they can spend less time worrying about their illness and more time getting on with their very life.

An Open Letter

In her own words, Dr. Lentz so graciously shared with ASAP their view of what we provide, “Our medical practice consists of many patients who are chronically ill and require extra levels of care compared to a traditional primary care practice. For our chronically ill patients who require infusion therapy, our first choice for an infusion supplier is ASAP pharmacy.

We have been thoroughly impressed, above all, with the level of patient care and compassion supplied by ASAP. Even with our patients being very geographically dispersed from the Chicago area, ASAP staff have made the effort to drive, in some cases several hours, to spend time with a new infusion patient and prepare them for home infusion therapy and answer their questions.

The ASAP staff have even gone above and beyond what was expected by assisting the more disabled patients in getting to their doctor’s appointments or hand delivering supplies when needed. As one of our patients commented: “ASAP pharmacy is excellent and if possible I want them to take over all my medical supply needs. I couldn’t be happier or more impressed.”

Additionally, ASAP pharmacy has assisted us in finding and setting up home nursing service in areas where home nursing options are less abundant. They have worked well with a variety of home nursing services to answer questions about supplies and infusion procedures.

When it comes to navigating the complex and challenging world of insurance coverage and reimbursement, ASAP has also been a great ally to our office and our patients to assist with pre-certification on the front end of treatment and deal with appeals when insurance denials occur. Also, when insurance coverage is not available for a prescribed treatment, ASAP has established very fair and reasonable cash pricing options for the patients, making ongoing treatment more feasible for many patients.

In the world of sometimes impersonal medicine, the level of personal attention and care ASAP gives to their patients is refreshing. We would highly recommend ASAP pharmacy to any medical practice or patient in need of infusion treatment or specialty pharmacy products.”

At ASAP, we are honored to serve patients of New Horizon Integrative Medicine. Anytime a doctor would take the time to write you a letter such as this, is a time we at ASAP, stop and give thanks. We don’t go beyond the prescription so we can toot our own horn, we go beyond the prescription because every person we get the honor of serving, matters.

At ASAP and NHIM, people aren’t just a list of names on the schedule for that day’s appointments or merely numbers on an order form, they’re heartbeats, and they matter to us.
